Introducing Our New Director

We're excited to welcome Sonali Murarka, our new Director of Charter Schools. She is coming to us from the Silicon Schools Fund, a foundation focused on promoting high quality personalized learning in Bay Area schools, where she led their data and analytics work. In her past leadership, she served as the executive director of the New York City Department of Education (NYC DOE) enrollment research and policy team, which works to expand access to high-quality school choices for all families in NYC. She has also previously led the NYC DOE school accountability policy team, worked on issues around the economics of education at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and conducted research at the Center for the Advanced Study of India. Sonali received her B.A. from Stanford University in Public Policy and an M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in Applied Economics. She can be reached at sonali.murarka@ousd.org.

Key Deadlines

Please make a note of the following reporting deadlines:
  • December 3: First Interim Budget, due to Minh Co (minh.co@ousd.org)
  • November 15: Attendance Reporting Month 3 (10/15/18 to 11/09/18) and Student Exit Form, due to Mike Nguyen (mike.nguyenousd.org)
  • November 30:  2017-18 Measurable Pupil Outcomes (MPOs) updates due on the Info Center.

Reminders
Complete Mandated Reporter Training
School employees are required to complete Mandated Reporter Training within six weeks from the start of the school year.  Please ensure that all staff at your school have completed this training and are equipped to respond to allegations of abuse.
