Sad Bastard Music Club

Volume 11

Hey folks. I'm writing this a week before the midterm elections in the US and after an early birthday lunch date wherein I may or may not have consumed more cider than I had intended. I'm really hoping you're registered to vote and plan on making your opinions count in the ballot boxes if you live in these United States and have not sent in your main-in ballots already.

I'm also writing this the day after All Hallows Eve, aka Samhain which, contrary to popular opinion, is not just a metal band fronted by Glenn Danzig. But this SBMC playlist is not overly spooky. I'm spooked out enough by the current political climate and just want to hide under a rock. Or, you know, hide indoors and not come out for about 2.5 years.

I wrote a thing about the SBMC and gender parity. We're not there yet, and the data shows it. But I feel like maybe we can work toward it. You don't mind if I overwhelm you with Sad Bastard chicks, right? Of course you don't.

This iteration is highly influenced by the fact that, randomly, Spotify decided to make one of my Daily Mix playlists 80% women, which is pretty rad. There's a lot of new interesting stuff on there. As well as some old interesting stuff. I hope you dig it.

Side thing: I recently made one of those discography playlists on Spotify. You know the ones that have all the songs by a particular artist? Well, since I'm on Spotify, I decided to do that, too, so if you want to hear an extended playlist of my stuff, you can check that out here.

🖤
