Tuggerah Lakes Art Society - November Update

Fab Fakes Presents a 'Fab Century'!
It's a certainty that the nag above won't be racing in Tuesday's Melbourne Cup - but you never know - it could be an omen in picking a winner! The life-size horse will feature in a special display being presented by Gail Brigden at the Fab Fakes exhibition. The horse is made entirely of horseshoes! It's an artwork made by local artist Kenneth Smith.
Other exhibits in the display will be century old editons of various art books, including a Dame Nellie Melba publication to help the WWI  effort. There's also some last century images of Sydney and a WWl history of the Lighthorsemen in watercolours by Madaleine Cobb, plus the ceremonial sword of Colonel Harry J. Brigden (with an inscription by King George on the handle).
This tribute to the 100th anniversary of the end of WWl will be featured together with Fab Fakes on the 15th to the 30th November at the Art House Wyong.

Some HELP Needed

If time permits AND if there is sufficient input from members - I'd like to produce a 2019 ALMANAC to release around the start of the new year (downloadable). It will contain Carnevale, Fab Fakes and newsletter highlights. But more importantly, it's over to you, anyone can contribute, with a poem, short essay, tips and tricks, recipes, old photos, jokes, favorite things, predictions (could be interesting), anything that takes your fancy -  Let's make it happen! Come on Pam, I know you have a secret recipe for a date loaf! Send items asap (including pictures) to web@tlas.org.au
