Living by faith

Last Sunday morning I was struck by how contemporary the word of Habakkuk seemed - he was despairing and asking God questions about the state the world seemed to be in.  Nations around him were behaving contrary to God's ways, yet were prospering, and Habakkuk had to hear God's voice to put things back in perspective.

This Sunday we're looking further at what Gad had to say through Habakkuk - the righteous live by faith - and we'll explore how this can be true of all of us!

See you on Sunday - 10.30 at the Calabash as usual.

Gift Day

This Sunday is also the first of our two-week annual CCC Gift Day!  The other week I said that I've been reading 2 Corinthians, and I've got to chapters 8 & 9 in the last few days - Paul encourages the Corinthian Christians to give generously, according to what they have and what God calls them to give, but he also has to work through the embarrassment of having to ask people to give!

I feel a bit the same when talking about our Gift Day - money is sometimes a hard thing to talk about, and I don't want to presume to know what God is asking you to give.  But I do want to encourage you to seriously pray and consider what money God might be asking you to give on this Gift Day, to support what we are doing in our local community and to bless Greg & Sophie with some help for their extra expenses.

Click here to see some more details of Gift Day, as well as a reminder about Sunday's iNet Celebration, and our proposed trip to Zimbabwe in February.
