The Kidney Foundation Discovers New Ways to Protect Kidneys

Common imaging tests, like coronary angiographies, although safe, can sometimes result in acute kidney injury due to the intravascular contrast dyes used in such tests. A research team from the University of Calgary recently published a study showing for the first time how dyes can injure the kidney.
