Research Team Backed by
The Kidney Foundation Discovers New Ways to Protect Kidneys

Common imaging tests, like coronary angiographies, although safe, can sometimes result in acute kidney injury due to the intravascular contrast dyes used in such tests. A research team from the University of Calgary recently published a study showing for the first time how dyes can injure the kidney. Investing in the Future of Transplantation Research

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), The Kidney Foundation of Canada, Astellas Pharma Canada Inc., the Canadian Liver Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Canada, and the Fonds de recherche du Québec–Santé announced a $3.3 million renewed funding to support transplantation research by the Canadian Donation and Transplant Research Program.
