Centenary Remembrance event

Our Sustainable Communities Fund has helped fund a week-long remembrance event at Lobley Hill Community Centre this week to honour our service men and women on the centenary of the end of the First World War.

On Wednesday 7 November there will be a high tea party with music and film from the WW1 era.

There will also be lots of activities throughout the week including a 'yarn bombing' of knitted poppies, a memorial service and art and poetry competitions for the local school to get involved in.

You can find out more details and how you can get involved at our website.
Raising Awareness of Mate Crime

Our Community Fund has helped Gateshead diversity arts organisation GemArts to deliver a mate crime awareness project.

GemArts artist Tommy Anderson has created a series of artworks explaining what mate crime is and how to report it.

There is also a short film which describes a series of personal stories of mate crime victims.
