The American Jewish Committee has called for allies to attend Jewish Shabbat services this weekend. We have been invited by our local congregation, Temple Am Shalom, 7599 Center Street, Mentor, to join them for services tonight at 7:30.
Dress code: Am Shalom is a gathered community like us. Casual is fine. Wear your church shirt, if you'd like.
Parking: Am Shalom has a small parking lot. If it's full, you are welcome to park on the side streets.
Identify yourself: when you are greeted, please let them know you are from our church. Am Shalom is very grateful for the outpouring of support, yet with a heightened awareness of safety in having so many visitors. It will help them to know how you are connected.
Service: The service has been put together to be as user friendly as possible. There are chants and prayers in Hebrew and times you may be a bit lost. It's OK. Participate when you can, listen and watch when you're lost, and just join your spirit to the gathered community. Shabbat services are beautiful.
