Sure, But Can You Make A New Knitter?

Next Saturday, November 10th, Skacel (a yarn company and distributor in the Pacific Northwest) is challenging the current knitters of the United States to increase their ranks by teaching 10,000 new people to knit. To back up their challenge, Skacel has graciously offered up thousands of complimentary teaching kits so that new knitters have the supplies and guidance they need to start; all we need are teachers!

Because Cozy is lucky enough to host several kits, we are holding a Teach-A-Friend Day on November 10, 2018, from 10 am-5 pm. Experienced knitters can pre-register on our website for a pair of fingerless mitts kits (each registration is for TWO kits), and then come to the shop anytime that Saturday to teach a friend or family member how to cast on, get started, and knit those mitts!

Our kit supply is limited, but even if we run out, there are still reasons to join us: we'll have coupons for 20% off a future purchase available in the shop to give out that day, as well as snacks for sustenance (but don't forget the three-hour neighborhood parking!) and you are welcome to come teach a friend to knit or crochet with your own materials, too. We hope to have a delightful day of of stitchers sharing their love and expertise, and--by golly--we'll make new knitters!

Saturday, November 24th is this year's Small Business Saturday, a day for supporting smaller local businesses as shoppers prepare for the holidays. As part of our day's celebration, we get to host local favorite Wooly Moss Roots, whose wood buttons and shawl pins enhance any handmade projects with their natural beauty. Look out for more details on our social media feeds as we get closer to the event!
