December is Coming
December is just around the corner and in the midst of the busyness of finishing off the year, organising presents and attending endless lunches and Christmas parties we also are aware something far more important is going on. Paul writes in Colossians 4:3-6 3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. 4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.  5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

Can I be encouraging you during this season where many folk who don’t know the true meaning of Christmas are searching for answers to be praying for open doors to proclaim Christ, and to act wisely with your friends and families seeking to make the most of every opportunity the season brings. Here are a few events you might be able to invite folk along to that would be good to put in your diaries and start praying for:

Sunday December 9th – Stanley Carols. Not just singing but there will also be a Christmas message featuring Joel and his good friend Milly the Monster.
Friday December 14th – Christmas Parade Smithton. We hope to enter another float in the parade this year.
Sunday December 23rd 11am – Children’s Christmas Service. Great opportunity to invite friends and family.
Monday December 24th 7pm – Christmas Eve Carols & Communion Service. See above.
Tuesday December 25th TBA – Christmas morning Carols & Communion. See above.

Stephen Carnaby Visiting
On November 11th we will have Stephen Carnaby the Director for Ministry Development joining us. Stephen’s role is primarily about equipping and supporting Anglican churches across our State in making disciples of Jesus and we will also be utilising his visit to run a training session after our service that day. In the past Stephen has left us feeling encouraged and equipped to share our faith and to pray, this time around he will be looking at ways of training up leaders. It will take place after the service that day and I would love to see many of you stick around to learn and be encouraged.

Prayer & Praise Night
It was great to get together with so many of you last Sunday evening for our time of prayer and praise as well as finishing off with some very enjoyable dinner. It was encouraging to see not only a good mix of folk from our own church but also some folk from the other churches of the district joined us for a great time of praising our wonderful God together. Special thanks to Jan Krom and Jenny Poke in organising the night and hopefully it is the first of many more similar nights next year.

Nankervises Away
We are going to be taking our own form of a long weekend after the Service this Sunday. We will be heading away for a few nights and returning on Friday 9th. Please be praying for us to have time of refreshment as we try and recharge the batteries before the busy finish to the year. If you have an urgent church matter then please contact our secretary Karen Pyke on 0427 396 240. If it is not so urgent then feel free to send me an email and I will get back to you when I return.
