4th November 2018

Dear Friend,

Welcome to our BPPC eNews.

Do you get excited about meeting with God's people? Is once a Sunday enough "church" for Christians?  Or is once a week enough for Christians to meet?  Interesting questions, but they miss the point!  It's not about "must" or "ought to" but whether your "heart is in it!"

The Point of Meeting Together

  • The Lord is with us, even when there are only two believers.
  • We are Family, not just any human family, but God's family forever.
  • We can bless and be blessed in a two-way-street lifestyle of "give-and-take" which focuses on the needs of others.
  • We can exhort those who won't work, encourage those who are afraid, help those who are weak and practise patience with everyone.

So let's meet together as often as we can. The early Christians met "daily" and "shared food from house to house." Wouldn't that be good? See you on Saturday night at the Mission's evening.

God bless you abundantly,
Pr Andre & Newsroom Team

Mission's Night - Saturday!

We're excited to meet together for dinner at 6:00 pm and then share a little on what's happening with our missionaries, watch a 5 minute clip and a 30 minute video from Papua New Guinea.

Come along with some food and join in a great evening where we meet the Lord in His desire to reach the world with the Gospel. There'll be a donation box for our missionaries if you are inclined to share with them.

Don't forget to bring along some food to share. See you there at 6:00 pm.

From the Pulpit

Morning Service - 9:30 am

Pr André will put Isaiah on hold, and launch a short series on "Songs from the Bible."  Today's focus is the "Song of Moses" from Exodus 15:1-24 which tells about God's great salvation work and the people's longings for the future.  Our topic "Salvation to Grumble?” watches joyful singing become intense grumbling in just three days. Is your heart singing in harmony with God and his people? Maybe you've lost your song through forgetting God's work in your life or a little too much grumbling. Come along and be refreshed as you leave the grumbles and sing His praises.

Evening Service - 6:00 pm

Tonight's message is from Psalm 2:1-12, “The LORD and His Christ."  Pr André will launch into a new series on "Messianic Psalms," those that point directly to the coming Messiah and His work, such as Psalm 2. The mockery of ordinary people, governments and world leaders is what it talks about. But God promises that when the Messiah comes He would give Him all nations, and the mockers would be dealt with. So what can we do in our present situation? Is there a solution? Come and see what God's answer is.

  • Pam Frazer has had a restful week after commencing cancer treatment for a Lymphoma. Keep Pam in your prayers, and others dealing with a similar issue.
  • Pray for our expectant mothers and those with newborn children. Another child (first or last) means huge changes in family life.
  • Remember the children of our members who are far from the Lord at the moment, that the Lord will work in their hearts and "bring them to themselves" like the prodigal son.

Last week we prayed that our missionaries Nathan & Tomoko Stewart, Lucinda Windeatt and Lauren Crase might have a fruitful ministry, but this week we are praying with them for the countries they serve with the Gospel.

  • Government - national and local;
  • Political Situation;
  • Visas, continued open door;
  • Outreach to cities, villages, tribes.

Lucinda Windeatt's Operation

Lucinda is still convalescing after a repeat ear operation to restore her hearing, which was quite seriously impaired. Please pray for a total recovery so that she might continue serving the Lord effectively.

One aspect is to prepare people to be an "Andrew" or rather, a seeker of the lost. Read more here. The Lighter Side

This cartoon helps illustrate once again, that there is nothing new under the sun. Downloading onto a tablet from the cloud happened long before Android or Apple became common household names.
