Dear Greenbelt Family,

On behalf of the Deacons Board, I wanted to pass along some additional financial information and a new building development in advance of our meeting tomorrow. (The original meeting notice is below with the full agenda.)

A number of individuals have asked for an update on our overall financial situation in advance of the meeting. As of the end of September, Greenbelt had a deficit of $33,144.

The Deacons Board have been prayerfully grappling with how to deal with what appears to be an annual challenge to meet our budget.

This past month has thrown us what appeared to be another significant curveball. Our roof - which has served us for over 30 years, even though you should only ever plan for it to last 20 years - has finally reached the end of its useful life.

With the increased rain recently, we currently have significant leaks coming into our building's second floor. This is affecting both Greenbelt's space and the offices we rent to our commercial tenants.

The demise of the roof was predicted, but our hope as a Management team was that we could hold off until next year and we could present options during our next AGM.

This is no longer a realistic plan, and this issue will need to be discussed at tomorrow's meeting.

We will share as many details as possible tomorrow. Not everything will be solidified because, honestly, this is such a new development that we are still discussing the matter with our bank, a roofing consultant and  a roofing company.

But the short version is to say that, as He often does, we believe God is working in a way that we would not have chosen or that even makes sense in the worldly sense. We believe He has provided a path forward that will actually address both our roofing issue, while simultaneously reducing some strain on our annual budget.

I hope as many of you as possible will join us on Sunday evening at 7:00 to discuss this important issue, as well as taking care of other key business items.

Hello Greenbelt! 

We have some exciting news! On Sunday, November 4th at 7 pm
we will hold a congregational meeting at the church to provide you
an update on Greenbelt's ministry, provide a status on the church finances,
outline the transition to welcoming the Jesus Light of the World Arabic congregation
into the Greenbelt family, and to vote on the approval of 2 new deacon candidates:
Karen Chow & Ryan Lawrence.

Also, Bechara Karkafi will be joining us from Lebanon! He will be giving a presentation
on Arabic culture and what we can expect in this merge between the churches.

We would love to see you so that we may share with you in person and field any
questions you might have, but if you are not able to make it and you are a member of Greenbelt, proxy votes will be made available ahead of time. If you have any questions,
