Solo auditions
Prospective soloists, let me know what movement(s) you are interested in. I will start auditions after rehearsal this week.
Location change
Tuesday, November 6, is Election Day. First Presbyterian is a polling place, so we will rehearse in the St. James' Episcopal Church sanctuary, across the street. If you can, please park on the street, so voters have plenty of access to the First Presbyterian lot. And don't forget to vote!
Audio clips for practice at home
Several Messiah movements are online at Cyberbass.org. Choose a movement (scroll down for Parts II and III), then click on your vocal part to the right. The audio clips will vary; some are a synth playback of the selected voice, some are all parts with the selected voice emphasized.
Send any additional links you find helpful, and we'll post them in a kipogram. We've already received an abundance for altos. How about it, sopranos, tenors and basses?
Awesome for altos on YouTube Andrew Grigg's 18-minute guided Messiah Alto Part shows the notes onscreen, as a solo voice sings the Part I alto line. Andrew even cues all entrances!
Here are several more clips featuring a solo alto voice with music displayed, courtesy of Paula Conan (big thank-you!):
