Pompette is a newsletter that's curated to help you
live through your senses.
Hey now...Pompette is back with a little different attitude and vibe. Let's do this! 🍾
Tipsy Tarot
The pairing for the week is the LeGrande Circus & Sideshow Tarot with the Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais-Villages. In case you didn’t know, in November it’s time to get ready for Beaujolais Nouveau which will be November 15th. This is a reminder that it’s not the only Beaujolais to get into your glass. There are 30 villages in Bourgogne that make the wine. The wine is full of character with it’s berry and black current notes. It comes to the wine glass to put on a show just like the circus which makes it the perfect pairing.

So, you have been working hard. In fact.. to hard. Take some time off if you can. If that’s not in the cards, add some pleasure to your schedule. Everything should not be about work. Sure, it’s great to get those coins, but fun and joy are crucial to living your best life. The work will be there.

The good news is all that hard work is paying off. The boss has noticed. You are growing. Let’s just say it’s all finally getting you somewhere. That doesn’t necessarily mean that you are in the job you should stay in. Get all the skills that you can so that you can make money moves.

Long story short:
Things are looking good. Just remember to take time to enjoy your life. Stop comparing yourself to someone else and do your thing. The Empress is sending you positive vibes and abundance All you have to do is embrace all of it. Blessed be.

Uberkate

Cocktail rings use to be a woman’s first bling. The rings made their first appearance during the days of Prohibition. Women were “sisters doing it for themselves” because they were finally making their own money. The first big purchase was a cocktail ring to wear on their right hand when at a speakeasy to let suitors know that they were single and financially independent.  The rings are a bold statement, part rebellion, and part status symbol.

The rings were created in the 1920’s yet were most popular in the 1940’s and 1950’s. Traditionally the rings were made with big gemstones and were quite elegant. The modern version of the rings can be rather gaudy or cheap looking. However,  if you want a ring that resembles a classic cocktail ring, Uberkate, has you covered.

Kate Sutton is a top jewelry designer in Australia who is the founder and creative force behind, Uberkate. She brought her classy cocktail rings to New York City. Sutton had a launch soiree at The Back Room, one of the only authentic speakeasies still operating since Prohibition. It was her first time to hit the Big Apple and bring her jewelry to the U.S.

The Uberkate rings are real gemstones so they vibe on energy. Whatever you want to attract and give off is a good way to decide which ring you want to rock. There are several stones in the collection to choose from. Kate gifted me a ring and I picked the Rose Quartz Duet. The stone is all about love, I also think the ring looks to unique since it has two stones versus one.

I love the idea of cocktail rings, it’s a statement I would love to see come back. There are probably quite a few woman wearing cocktail rings now, but they don’t know the history behind them . Even if a woman isn’t single she can feel free to rock a cocktail ring. I love how the ring basically means that a woman is a badass.

Kate was such a delight.  She was in town with her best friend who also works at the company. They were havng a good ‘ole girl’s trip and living their best life as they fulfill Uberkate’s goal to empower and inspire woman one ring at a time. Cheers!

La Vie Pompette

Bruja On Beer:

The first African-American craft beer festival dropped in Pittsburgh to much success. How will the beer industry respond?  The craft beer scene is thought of as predominately white dudes with beards wearing flannel shirts. However more people of color and women are starting to brew.  It would be nice to have more diversity in the beer scene.

There’s a new homebrew kit called, The Kitbag Brewery that is meant to get more women to join the homebrew community. It’s the first brewery in a bag. It includes all the equipment, ingredients and instructions amateur brewers need to whip up a batch of beer.  I think it’s a good way to exercise your brewing chops.

Charming Cheese:

I was just sent a copy of The Fondue Bible and I have to admit that I’m a bit obessed with it now. Fondue is actually easy make at home and perfect for when you want a warm cozy meal. If you aren’t sure about that you can swing it a home, go slow and use an easy recipe that’s simply cheese and white wine. And if you don’t have a fondue pot, use a Crock-pot instead. Using a Crock makes it easy baby!

Travel:

The Maldives has just revealed the world’s first over and underwater villas. The Muraka is a 6,000 square foot bi-level residence with an underwater master suite. It  descends 22 feet below sea level. If you stay in the villa, you will be able to see schools of fish and other sea creatures living their best life.  Of course there’s a fully stocked bar and kitchen situation with your very own butler. It will only cost you around $50,000 a night (USD)Yep, a night!
