  • Finally a HUGE shout out to Lana T for finalizing this year's LMC School Directory.  Please use it to find contact info for kids at LMC and their families.
  • A shout out to all who have donated to the direct appeal!  We are so appreciative of your work to help make LMC a special place for all kids.
Wishing Wall….. what is that?  The Wishing Wall is a virtual wall covered with teacher wish lists for the parents to fulfill. The lists contain items that the teachers would love to have to enhance their classrooms and enrich the experience for their students. For parents, it’s a chance to support specific teachers and provide things that will directly impact their child's classrooms. This also includes support for specialty teachers, the guidance counselor and speech therapists!

Please CLICK HERE to learn more about it.
HERE is the list of the teacher's wishes.

This Week at LMC
  • Welcome author Thanhha Lai!
  • Hat Day at LMC!  Monthly fundraiser for NYC charities

Dear LMC Families,

Next week we will begin scheduling times for you and your child to attend a fall, Parent-Teacher-Student conference on either Tuesday, November 27th (1pm-3pm) or Wednesday, November 28th (5pm-7:30pm). Conferences at LMC are scheduled by and held with your child's advisor.  Each conference lasts 15 minutes and translators are available for families who prefer the conference to be held in Spanish, Cantonese, or Mandarin.  In the coming weeks your child's advisor will take a great deal of time to collect feedback and information from all of your child's teachers to ensure that you have a full understanding of how your child is performing in all of his/her classes.  Additionally, the last 30 minutes of each conference day is held for "open conference time".  During this period you may sign up for a short conference with any teacher who you'd like to speak with directly.  Sign up for open conference time occurs on the day of conferences.

Your child's attendance at Parent-Teacher-Student conferences is key!  Beginning in 6th grade we will ask your child to lead a portion of the conference.  By the time LMC kids are in 8th grade they will leading a significant portion of the conference.  Student attendance at these conferences increases your child's understanding of his/her performance and builds academic independence.  Please make sure your child attends with you!

Best,
Kelly McGuire

Can you help?
Here are some things we could use this week:
  • ARE YOU AN ARCHITECT?  LMC is seeking to post a banner / flag on the outside of our doorway on New Street and we need your help filing a permit to do  so.  If this is an area you know or have expertise we'd greatly appreciate your support.  Please email Nicki Francis at nicki@khushispa.com if you can help.
  • Our teachers meet after school on Mondays and Wednesdays for adult learning and collaboration.  We meet until just about 4pm and in those hours following dismissal teachers get hungry!  If you'd like to help, sending in a little snack for our teachers on those days is always appreciated!
