Important – Update your profile

Each year the details on your profile needs to be updated .... and it's done by YOU!
To update, click the link at the bottom of this email and change the relevant fields to suit the 2019 events etc.

Next Masters Sub-committee meeting

The next Brisbane Masters Sub-committee meeting will be held on Tuesday 4th December 2018, from 7pm.
Venue yet to be confirmed, but it may be the Colmslie Hotel. All welcome.

Tuesday Night Summer Hockey @ SHC

Our usual Monday Night Summer Social Hockey has TWO MORE TUESDAY Nights at the State Hockey Centre (before returning to MONDAY Nights and again be held at EHTT on the new turf).
The dates for Tuesday night hockey are 6th & 13th November.
Time remains the same, from 7:30pm to 9:00pm.
Cost is $10.00. Please bring a PLAIN white and PLAIN black shirt. All welcome.

Thursday Arvo Hockey @ SHC

The Thursday Afternoon social hockey has one more day at the SHC ... this Thursday hockey – 18th October.
From 3.00pm-4.30pm. Please arrive at least 15mins early.
Cost is $8.00. Please bring a PLAIN white and PLAIN black shirt. All welcome.

Brisbane Masters' Super Nines 2019

The Brisbane Masters' Super Nines for season 2019 is open for registrations and expressions of interest.
(Players/Teams from outside of Brisbane welcome to nominate).
You can form a club-based team, collective of individuals, or just nominate yourself and be placed in a team!
Start the season with a bang!
Saturday 23rd February 2019.
Come and enjoy a great day of Nines hockey at the Brisbane Masters' Super Nines.
Details of the Day... 
Date:
 Saturday 23rd, February 2019
Time: Start time will be approx. 8:30am and expect to finish around 7:00pm 
Location: Burringbar Park, Kittyhawk Drive, Chermside
(Note: If more than 6 teams register, a second field will be required. If the new second turf at Burringbar is not ready a move to another centre may be required).
Cost: Approximately $400 per team. 
Summary of Rules: Min of 12 players – Max of 16 players.
Restrictions: All players over 35 years (as at 31/12/2019). Only 2 Players aged 35-39 in team. Must have at least 2 Players 50 years or older in team.
Structure:
  • Minimum of 4 games per team. (Maximum of 6 games per team). 
  • 2 x 15-minute halves with 2 minute break.
  • PCs are basically a 4 v 3 (inc. GK).
  • Two players must always be in attacking half of the field. 
  • A "new and improved" Finals format for 2019!

2019 Championship Dates

Mark your diary now! Here are the dates for the Qld State Championships and the Australian Masters Championship.

The Qld O35s State Championship will play in Maryborough on Sat 1st & Sun 2nd June, 2019. 

The Qld O40s & O50s State Championships will be held in Ipswich on the Labour Day long weekend ... Fri Night 3rd May, Sat 4th May, Sun 5th May & Mon 6th May, 2019.

The Over 60s Carnival will be held again in Hervey Bay on Friday – Sunday 5th, 6th & 7th April. Nominations will be done on the Qld Masters Hockey Website.

The 2019 Australian Masters Championships will be held in the south-west corner of Western Australia, shared between Bunbury and Busselton.
The start date will be Saturday 28th September and finish on Saturday 12th October.
Qld Masters Hockey committee have organised accommodation (not compulsory) to cater for all the Qld teams at Busselton's Aqua Resort. See the Qld Masters Hockey website. http://www.qldmensmastershockey.com

Note: The 2019 Masters Trans Tasman (v NZ) will be held at the Gold Coast fields and will finish on the Saturday 4th May. Players representing Australia in the Trans Tasman will be exempt from having to compete in the May State Titles to be eligible for State selection for National Champs later in the year.
