Newly Forecasted USAID Funding Opportunities

 
In October 2018, USAID added up to $1 billion in newly forecasted funding opportunities to the Mission Forecast. An analysis of the largest of these anticipated opportunities is included below. 
Ethiopia is anticipating between $75M to $151M in three awards within the Global Health sector. The largest of the awards forecasted is the Supporting the Electronic Information Systems in Ethiopia to Improve contract for $50M-$100M. The second anticipated program is the Health Financing Improvement Program, a cooperative agreement worth $25M-$50M. The final contract anticipated in Ethiopia is the Water Supply Construction for Six (6) New Health Centers Activity under USAID/Ethiopia Health Infrastructure Program  for $500K-$1M.

Malawi is forecasted to receive a total of $70M-$150M among three seperate awards. USAID anticipates a $50M-$100M cooperative agreement to implement prevention activities to increase uptake of proven, high impact, HIV prevention interventions by high-risk and underserved populations, especially men and adolescent girls and young women. The other objective is to identify undiagnosed HIV-infected persons through innovative outreach methods and link them to life-saving anti-retroviral treatment
. The other two awards are under the Environment and Global Climate Change sector for $10M-$25M each.

Nigeria anticipates a single cooperative agreement of $50M-$100M in the Global Health sector. The Social Services for AIDS-affected Orphans, Vulnerable Children, and Adolescents program solicitation is anticipated to be released on December 13, 2018.

Uganda anticipates new funding opportunities for $35M-$75M in the form of two awards. The first is within the Global Health sector. The Uganda Health Systems Strengthening (UHSS) is a contract worth $25M-$50M with the goal of improving the functionality of the Ugandan health systems by focusing on key public and private sector institutions and community structures at national, district, facility, and community levels. The second anticipated project is the Feed the Future Uganda Inclusive Agricultural Markets Activity for $10M-$25M. The goal of this contract is to increase incomes and improve the livelihoods of households through agricultural-led inclusive economic growth.
