Something to Think About....

My brother-in-law used to work in a bike shop and knows how to adjust the spokes on a bike wheel.  It's a REALLY impressive skill. The spokes are what connect the hub (the center of the wheel) with the rim (the part the tire mounts to).  If I'm being completely honest, I think I'm often more like a wheel rim than a hub. My focus is usually inward - on myself - something of a selfish stance.  It's probably natural.  I've noticed, though, that people I know who are on fire in the Spirit are more like the hub - focused outward, considering the well-being of others.

Be happy with those who are happy, and cry with those who are crying.
--- Romans 12:15 (CEB)

These Spirit-filled people often seem so much more in tune with those around them.  They come alongside them and share in their ups and downs, which turns out is what happens when you care about someone.

Take a minute to talk with God about how easily you connect with how others are feeling.  Who do you connect with? Everyone? Nobody? Just a few?  Consider seeking a giant dose of God's Spirit - see whether you are able to even better understand and share in the feelings of those around you.  It's one more way of loving others.  Be a hub.
