West Central Montana Avalanche Center - News / Advisory Update
Missoula Avalanche

Friends of Missoula Avalanche

Today we are asking fellow snow sports enthusiasts to join Missoula Avalanche in volunteering at the 50th Annual S.O.S. Fair. Each individual volunteer effort will result in funds that help us continue to fulfill our mission in support of public avalanche awareness information and education opportunities for all backcountry user groups. Each person who volunteers will make an impact on avalanche safety and education throughout West Central Montana. This a great opportunity to volunteer where you live and support the avalanche center services you rely on.

Why We Need Your Support

Through continued public and private partnerships, we continue to grow the backcountry forecasting and education programs the public relies on. We value you as a partner and with your help, we can continue to ensure these services reach the people that live, work and play in West Central Montana.

We are in need of an additional 10-12 volunteers for the following shifts:

November 10th

  • 8:00 am to 1:30 pm
  • 1:00 pm to 6:30 pm

November 11th

  • 9:00 am to 2:30 pm
  • 2:00 pm to 7:30 pm

Please consider donating some of your time. The funds raised as a result of your volunteer hours will help expand our education programs, increase our presence in the field, and create new ways to educate people about avalanche safety. Every volunteer counts, join us and pay it forward this S.O.S. Fair!
