On behalf of our staff, I wish a wonderful Thanksgiving break to all who celebrate. May your break be filled with family, fun, and relaxation.
Please note school is not in session Wednesday-Friday of this week. We look forward to seeing you on Monday.

Kennedy Book Fair A Success!
Thank you to those who volunteered at our annual Kennedy book fair. The event was a huge success. Thank you also to Ms. Nelson and Ms. Ruhr for setting up and staffing the fair.
Online Attendance Entry
If your child will be absent from school, you may either call our main office or enter an absence request in Skyward. From Kennedy's or ISD 742's homepages, log in to Skyward Family Access. You will then see an Attendance tab on the left hand side of your screen. Click on "Absence Request" to enter your child's absence and reason. Please contact our main office if you need assistance.

Our Classrooms
Orchestra
In 6th Grade Orchestra, we are working on practicing strategies for individual, partner, and group rehearsal. We want to make the most out of our time spent practicing so we can improve our skills quickly! During some peer tutoring time recently, we worked on two songs specifically: one reading piece with sheet music and one ear-training piece by rote. 6th grade orchestra students were extremely kind and gracious - they shared their strengths and learned from each other. They stayed focused and also put some of their practice strategies to good use, such as breaking the hard parts down and working on them slowly. - Ms. Adamson

Our Community
Supporting Our Community
Many community members have reached out to ask how they can support our Kennedy students and families over the holidays. Two ways you can help are to give money to decrease a child's unpaid lunch debt or give hats, socks, underwear, or mittens to our office to distribute over the winter.
If you would like to donate to a lunch account debt, please direct monetary gifts to our main office with a note directing the funds for that purpose. We will submit a "receipt of donation" to the Board of Education with your name attached upon receiving donations of cash or clothing so please inform us if you'd like to remain anonymous. Thank you for your inquiries!
