Most developing countries struggle to bridge the "digital divide", struggle to provide access to computers and the Internet for its low-income citizens. Women and girls are at an even greater disadvantage when it comes to gaining computer literacy than their male counterparts. Without equal access to technology and the internet, it is challenging for girls and women to be able to participate in our ever more digital societies and the global community on an equal basis. We must focus on the rights of girls, who are the most vulnerable to being left behind as the world around us changes.
Digital skills provide the poorest members of a society a catalyst to break out of the cycle of poverty and to empower themselves. We’re proud to partner with donors and volunteers who believe the promise of today’s youth far exceeds its poverty. We know Change starts with one voice, but it is actualized when many voices join together.
Join us in supporting the voices of the 540 destitute girls of the Khadijatul Kubra Girls Mission (KKGM), an orphanage in Kolkata. Let us create positive change for these girls.
A $600.00 gift will purchase one Desktop Computer, a Desk, and a Chair. Our goal is to provide at least 50 of these computer stations.
Although the total cost for this project is estimated to be $30,000.00, no donation is too small and will be greatly appreciated.
Your past contributions have helped us with several other projects, such as building the restrooms for the IELC School for the Blind, and I want to make sure to thank you for your generosity.
With gratitude,
Ann Moideen and the Board members of Ann Foundation
