Happy Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving, let those of us who have much and those who have little gather at the welcoming table of the Lord. At this blessed feast, may rich and poor alike remember that we are called to serve one another and to walk together in God’s gracious world. With thankful hearts, we praise our God who like a loving parent denies us no good thing.

Saint John School will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday beginning on Wednesday, November 21st. School will resume on Tuesday, November 27th.

On behalf of the administration, faculty and staff of Saint John School, we wish you and your families a very blessed Thanksgiving.

November Meeting Minutes
25th Anniversary of the Festival of Trees
Thank you to everyone who has already volunteered to help with this year's Festival of Trees.

A Few Last Minute Needs:
  • We are looking for additional volunteers to assist with set up. We can use help on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.  If you can volunteer please email Sister Maureen at mburke@sjheralds.org.
  • We are in need of volunteers for the Festival of Trees event itself. We are looking for volunteers to cover a variety of positions such as raffle ticket sellers, bartenders, etc. Please consider working a shift. Most shifts are 2 hours; therefore, it is possible to work a shift and still attend the event. 
  • We are still accepting donations. If you intend to donate, please send in donations this week.
  • We are in need of cookie trays. Please drop off at school office.
  • We still have tickets available. $50.00 per ticket or $450.00 for a table of ten.
Please go to the links below to volunteer to bake cookies or to volunteer for a duty.  Information on Class Baskets has recently been sent home. This event draws over 400 people and it’s a delightful evening and a wonderful way to end the Thanksgiving weekend and kick-off the holiday season.

Rescheduled Lottery Dress Down Day
Due to the cancellation of school on Friday, our rescheduled Lottery Dress Down Day will be on Monday, November 19th.

Herald Athletic Announcements
  • All Basketball Practices will be taking place at Spire this week due to Festival of Trees setup. Please check practice schedule for details.
  • All athletic 1/4 zip sizes must be in by Monday, November 19th. If we do not receive a size, we will use the sizes submitted from the fall season.
Information about FinalForms was given out at the winter sports meeting last week. A few reminders:
  • FinalForms is mandatory for all winter athletes
  • All families must signup for an account AND complete all of the forms

Browns Ticket Raffle
The athletic department is raffling off 4 tickets to the Browns v. Bengals game on December 23. Tickets are in section 132 row 12.  Valued  at $500.  Cost is $10.00 per chance. Raffle will be held Nov. 15.  Contact Nick Iarocci to get your tickets.
