Commemorating The World Day of Prayer and Action for Children (20 November)

On November 20, children and young people from all around the world will be engaged in the celebration of the World Day of Prayer and Action for Children!

This is an advocacy opportunity to raise awareness about children’s rights and the importance to end all forms of violence against children. The Day of Prayer and Action is celebrated every year since 2008 on November 20th, which is also the Universal Children’s Day and the anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Are you engaged in an activity to commemorate this day or would you like to become involved? We have opened a discussion in the Youth Zone to share ideas on how you can join this global action and also hear from you about what you have been doing.

You were one of the 526 participants from the world’s religious and spiritual traditions, girls and boys, women and men, from 70 countries, who together with representatives of governments, the United Nations, and international and grassroots organizations, met in Panama in May 2017 for the Fifth Forum of the Global Network of Religions for Children.

There, you discussed and committed to sustainable solutions towards what has become ‘a  global epidemic’ of violence against children.

This video is a summary of the views, thoughts, and commitments you and all the participants of the Forum made during those days in Panama. It is an inspiring video with all the faces of the people who took part in this enriching experience. Take a look at it!!

GNRC Youth from India and Japan in Genfest 2018

On July 2018, youth from Myochikai, Japan, and Shanti Ashram, in India, traveled to Manila, Philippines, to take part of the 11th edition of Genfest, the international youth festival of the worldwide Focolare Movement, a meeting of youth who want to show the world that universal fraternity and a united world is an Ideal worth living for.

Focusing on the theme, "Beyond All Borders" Genfest created apes and opportunities for young people to experience crossing cultures and traditions, find best practices, tools, and projects that would help them achieve sustainable change and realize that we are all part of a common humanity. During these days, our friends from India and Japan shared the work they have been doing with Arigatou International and brought back inspiration. They have written their experiences so we can share them in the Youth Zone.
