A Letter from Your Elder
Dear Church,
This is the time of year we are naturally thinking about thankfulness. As I have been studying Philippians with our student leaders it has been amazing to see the overwhelming thankfulness Paul had for the church. When he thought of these believers in every prayer of his, he was always praying with joy.
My heart is full of thankfulness for God’s people at Grace and what I see Him doing recently. This fall we have seen students deal with real sin in their life and have seen one student receive Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. It’s easy to rejoice in these things!
It’s in the moments of life when we are let down, wronged, or face suffering that our hearts need desperately to choose thankfulness. I believe that a renewed thankfulness can replace the frustration, disappointment, or discouragement that will also come alongside the joys of life.
Church, pray that we may say like Paul, what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel. In God’s perfect plan he sometimes uses what we find as hurtful to advance his mission. He is refining us and the good work he has begun he will complete!
Sincerely,
Pastor Mike
