What is WaterFire Providence’s Need?
There is a lot of not-so-fancy stuff that is imperative in making WaterFire take place. A critical, yet artless need, is a dependable and tough 4x4 pickup truck (or two!). We utilize our pickup trucks for everything from moving wood and towing boats to plowing our facilities and transporting staff and volunteers on event day. We can honestly say our trucks are one of the most important pieces to a WaterFire event, we couldn't illuminate downtown Providence without them!
Expenses for WaterFire lightings can run high. Raw materials, fuel, boat maintenance and things that may seem unimportant from the outside, such as zip-ties, batteries, snips and more, are imperative to an event day and they all add up over a season.
We are asking YOU to help us with these “not so fancy” things on #GivingTuesday to help keep the fires burning! If you appreciate the significance of WaterFire Providence’s contributions to our community, help us ensure we can continue to be a free and open event that unites residents and visitors through art.
