"You are how you move." - Katy Bowman

Opportunities for movement are every where...

... yet modern life makes it easier for us to choose to move less in the name of convenience. Our sedentary lifestyles create all kinds of problems that can be solved by choosing to move more like our ancestors did. That's the premise of Katy Bowman's book, "Move Your DNA." 

That's why I created "How To Move More," a social media series to share practical tips, updates and makeovers from me and the greater community of Restorative Exercise Specialists around the world. 

When my mom called me last weekend because she saw this video I made of me cleaning my kitchen with a dustpan and hand brush, I knew I had to start sharing the series with you. If a silly video can make my mom laugh and think about moving more, I bet you will, too.

How To Move More

Make life less convenient.

Coffee is one of the first things I move toward each morning. Since I placed my beans, grinder and filter on the lowest shelf next to the stove, I'm guaranteed to get in a Double Calf Stretch or 2 (or 3) before I am even fully functional. After a sip, I might even squat to put the paraphernalia back in the cupboard.

How can you make Nutritious Movement part of your daily menu? 

I'm contemplating a manual coffee grinder! Tips? Recommendations?
