CHRISTMAS CARDS FOR PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS - in recent years as a Church we have organised sending Christmas Cards to persecuted Christians in different parts of the world. Over the last few years Pam Norton has organised the Christmas Cards but would like to have a break from this task. Would you be willing to organise these so that these brothers and sisters are blessed this year? What’s involved is buying Christmas Cards and stamps, then addressing the envelopes and asking members of the congregation to take the cards, to reimburse the postage and send the cards. For more information please speak to Pam and if you would be willing to help please see David Goodall.
TRINITY TITHE - Please take a look at the thank you letters from charities we supported through our Tithe - they're displayed on the notice board in the coffee lounge.
KITCHEN CHAMPION - We are looking for a volunteer to have an overview of the kitchen in terms of hygiene, safety and general housekeeping. This is not to complete the tasks required, but to check they are being done correctly by all the groups using the kitchen. If you are feel you could serve God through this role or would like to discuss what is involved contact David Goodall or John Vincent.
BIBLE STUDY RESOURCES - Check out this fantastic website which has short video overviews of many books of the Bible, as well as Bible themes. Great for house groups or personal use https://thebibleproject.com . Sandra Innes.
BRITAIN’S GROWING DEBT TRAP - Millions of families in the UK are struggling to make ends meet. Wages still haven’t recovered since the financial crisis, there is growing insecurity at work, and £14 billion in welfare cuts have slashed our social safety net. Growing numbers of people are having to borrow just to cover basic needs, like putting food on the table. Furthermore, rip-off lenders are out of control, exploiting desperate families with high cost credit. As many of you will be aware, the debt trap is a huge problem for millions. Jubilee Debt Campaign has mounted a national card signing campaign asking the Government to act to tackle the spiralling debts which are severely impacting the lives of families across our country. We have managed to get well over 50 cards signed in Hexham but we have 10 left. Please see John Haigh after the morning service if you would like to sign. Otherwise, you can sign at jubileedebt.org.uk
