Christmas Show

This Sunday!
The Girl Singers of the Hit Parade
NOVEMBER 18TH at 3pm Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Faribault

Christmas is a time we all want to hear those cherished songs that bring a wave of nostalgia. Most of the popular Christmas songs were made famous in the 1950s and this show brings them all back. The Lennon Sisters, Andrews Sisters, McGuire Sisters and the King Family were a part of every family’s Holiday and still are in many cases.

The Girl Singers of the Hit Parade encompass this warm family feeling with their Christmas Show. Admission is free. A freewill offering will be collected for Ruth's House. Intern Spotlight

This month we spotlight our intern, Lindsay Maxa. The staff and residents appreciate her enthusiasm and colorful personality. Thank you for helping share the Virtues Project https://www.facebook.com/FaribaultVirtuesProject/ with our residents!

Lindsay shares:

I am a fall 2018 graduate of MSU Mankato, receiving a bachelor's of science degree in Applied Organizational studies. I am doing another independent study in conjunction with Ruth's House at The Hope Center as well.

I assist with projects at Ruth's House and help lead the Faribault Virtues small group with some of the women at the shelter. We discuss personal experiences and growth, focusing on the positive. When I graduate I am interested in working with people experiencing domestic violence or possibly chemical dependency.

Volunteer Opportunities

Childcare Volunteers - Come play with the kids while their moms attend weekly meetings and classes. Short shifts available Wednesday evenings, once a month on Sunday afternoons, and Monday evenings 6:30-8:30pm .

Front Desk Receptionist - Love helping others and have availability during weekdays? We are looking for front desk receptionists to help out at the shelter answering the doors and phones and logging donations.

Contractor or Handy person - We are looking for contractors to help with needed repairs at the shelter for a variety of projects. Know how to fix a bicycle or lay tile or install carpet? Help with lawn care or landscaping? Consider volunteering at Ruth's House!

Graphic Design or IT Support - Have graphic design skills, or technical know-how? We could always use your help!

Thanks Giving

We are grateful for the volunteers from the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus who removed and hauled away our old carpeting so we could have fresh carpet installed and also helped with moving furniture. They did an amazing job and we are so thankful!
