2019 - 90th Anniversary Year
|
|
In 2019 the society turns 90 and we've loads of events and performance opportunities to help us celebrate, including a return to The New Wimbledon Theatre with The Wizard of Oz in October!

Dance Workshop
Sunday 13th January 6pm, Wimbledon Village Hall
Kickstart the year with a dance workshop led by the wonderful Hannah McKenna Vickerstaff as she teaches one of your favourite show routines.

SWamdram Bowling night

We join Cygnets and PLOS for a battle of the pins and balls in the inaugural SWamdram bowl-o-rama

1920's Tea Dance
Sat 9th February 3 - 6pm, Wimbledon Village Hall
Join us for bubbles, tea, cake and dancing. Period dress is encouraged as we celebrate the 1920s-1950s and WLOS’s early years

Open Mic Night

The now infamous open mic night returns with a 90th Anniversary special edition

90th Anniversary Summer Cabaret
Wednesday 22nd to Saturday 25th May, Wimbledon Village Hall
Our annual Cabaret, bigger, bolder, and better than before. With extra nights, the cabaret lands earlier this year – don’t miss this firm favourite with our Anniversary twist.

Family Picnic and Barbecue, June - Date TBC
Resurrecting a WLOS favourite from the past, join us for this relaxed get together with generations past and present. Subject to the British weather!

We return to New Wimbledon Theatre as we turn 90 with the hugely exciting The Wizard of Oz.

Christmas Drinks

We round off the year of celebrations with our annual Christmas drinks - dress code: Christmas Jumpers and tinsel.

Jodie Whittaker is the new Dr Who, Willoughby’s wreaking havoc in the jungle and Scary, Sporty, Ginger and Baby are back with a bang...It’s certainly the year of the woman! And our 2020 show line up has no shortage of GIRL POWER! We listened to your feedback about the lack of female roles in recent shows, so we’ve delivered the goods.
We'll be kickstarting 2020 with 'Sister Act’, the story of the lounge singer who isn’t afraid to bring the sass to the stage! At the Oratory School Theatre from 27-30 May 2020!
We’ll be spending Autumn/Winter behind bars, by bringing ‘Bad Girls the Musical’ to the Oratory School Theatre from the 21-24 October
In a WLOS first we’ll be launching a brand new 48 hour musical. Audition, rehearse and perform one of your favourite shows over one weekend. Who’s up for the challenge? More details to follow, but you won’t want to miss it!
And finally, we’ll of course be returning to Wimbledon Village Hall with our beloved WLOS Summer Cabaret!
Ladies, your time has come! And to all the super talented gents out there, we haven’t forgotten about you either. Our line up has plenty of opportunities for our whole membership base to get involved and we can’t wait for you to enjoy our killer season!
