Answered Prayer!
Our new sister, Shanitique Gaston, was baptized on Sunday November 11.  Shanitique was originally invited to a Columbus Bible talk by Grace Tracy in 2016.  Every day, Grace would track her down to ask her to come to church or Bible talks. Eventually Shanitique said yes, and started attending service and weekly Bible talks.

Shanitique started studying the Bible in September of 2016, but things did not align with God’s timing. The Army assigned her a new duty station in Washington state, where she stayed for a year. Upon leaving Washington, she joined a new unit within the Army and she was assigned back to Ft. Benning. From there, she was deployed to Afghanistan for several months. She returned home to Ft. Benning in 2018, and reached out to Christina Valeary about resuming attendance at the Bible talks in Columbus.

Shanitique started attending weekly Bible talks and eventually made her way to a couple of church services.Through this time, she slowly started to open up, asking more questions about the word of God.

Around the beginning of October, Shanitique decided to study the Bible again with the sisters in Columbus. Each time the sisters would meet with her, the power of God was alive and active.  You could physically see the changes occuring in her heart. A woman who came in beaten down by the schemes of Satan and sorrows of this world, you could see light, and happiness returning to her life. The sisters in Columbus would always say, “This time around, we were able to meet the true Shanitique, and it is like studying with a completely different person.”

Shanitique is a Supply Sergeant, and will (hopefully) continue to be stationed at Fort Benning for the next three years. She is currently residing in Columbus GA with her mother, Elis, and two younger brothers, Sypher and Zalquis. She is expecting her first child, Tristan,in January.

It is amazing to see Shanitique's heart for God, and how she wants to break down and completely digest the scriptures. We are so happy for her, and look forward to seeing how God is going use her to build his kingdom.

Sign up to perform a song or spoken word piece in our Christmas program: WORSHIP AND ADORE THE KING. A CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION.  The peformance doesn't have to be a Christmas selection, as long as it reflects the theme of adoration.  See Marisha Atkins or Kat Watson to sign up.
This Week's Memory Verses:

This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. John 15:8

If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. Hebrews 10-26-27

This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, I Timothy 2:3-5

The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. I Tim 4:1-3
