St Ives Community Orchard News:
Time Credits / AGM / Work Parties / Bosavern Veg boxes / Pop up Gallery auction / Lantern workshops / Sk8park Gig / Bee talks

Hi

Just had an exciting meeting finding out about Time Credits and now have a stack of Time credit vouchers that we can hand out to everyone who comes to volunteer at the orchard.  If you do one hour work in the orchard, you will receive one voucher which you can use at various places around the country. Two hours & you get 2 vouchers.  Have a look where you can spend it - https://timecredits.com/spend?credits=25&keywords=cornwall. Local examples St Ives Leisure Centre (swim or gym), Penzance Leisure, Minack Theatre, Acorn Theatre, Tate, Tremenhere sculpture gardens, Newquay Waterworld, Barbara Hepworth. For just one hour's work, you can get one hour free swim or gym for example. How cool is that! Come along this Sunday or Tues to earn your first vouchers.

A reminder that our AGM is next week 7pm in Cafe Art, Drill Hall on Chapel Street. Please pop along to find out our plans or get involved.

We have a few set work party dates coming up - this Sunday & next 10.30am - 12 and next Tues 2 -4 pm. See
latest flyer for more dates coming up or check on http://www.stivesorchard.co.uk/volunteer/ or on our facebook group

Duke of Edinburgh: We were very proud to see 6 of our previous volunteers getting Bronze & Silver Duke of Edinburgh awards at St Ives School this week. It's a wonderful experience for kids and gets them doing things that they wouldn't normally do. We currently have 5 new kids going for Bronze and 4 just about to start their Gold award volunteering with us - which is 12 months of volunteering!! We plan to get them started on clearing a path through the Nature reserve so that we can have a circular walk to enjoy.
