#3: Deadspin's McKenna with a super long look at the feud between former George Washington AD Nero & former Colonials MBB HC Lonergan that eventually led both out of Foggy Bottom. The piece includes pictures & video of Nero allegedly fraternizing with recently graduated GW student-athletes, reports of Nero giving some student-athletes nominal amounts of cash out of his own pocket, consistently being intoxicated on a MBB trip to Italy & much more. Further, Lonergan looks to have gone to former university Prez Knapp to complain about Nero's behavior & involvement as the piece also recounts details around Lonergan's departure, which happened before Nero stepped aside. Around a month ago Nero was communicating with Deadspin about a statement, which he indicated would need to be coordinated with the university, but no such statement ever came. There's lots of anonymous comments both defending & blaming both former leaders. (link)
