Community Pro-life Rosary intentions

November: That the link between the contraceptive culture and abortion may be known by all people.

December: That the Government scrap proposals to (a) remove the rights of parents to withdraw their children from sex education lessons, and (b) integrate a false understanding of sex and marriage into school curricula.
Our prayers and congratulations....
to our parishioner Mrs Eleanor Chinkondenji, who is becoming a Dame of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, at an investiture Mass to be celebrated at 10am on Sat 24 November at Southwark Cathedral - all are very welcome to attend! The Order undertakes educational work in Bethlehem, Jordan and Gaza; as well as charitable work among the persecuted Christians of the Middle East. Each member visits the Orders projects several times a year to support these endeavours, while also undertaking fundraising in their home country.
Christmas in a Box
As in previous years, St John Fisher Parish will once again participate in the the Catholic Children's Society's Christmas Gift Appeal as an Advent almsgiving project. Please create hampers for local families living in poverty. Dry foods are always welcome, as are new toys, clothes and basic toiletries. To print label and for more details, please click on the picture.
Consultation on Relationships and Sex Education (RSE)
In a new Government consultation on Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), the Government are proposing to remove the right of parents to withdraw their children from sex education lessons as well as integrating a false understanding of sex and marriage into RSE both at primary and secondary school level.

These moves are a serious infringement of parents' authority to educate their children regarding the meaning of sex and marriage. The organisation 'CitizenGO' have written a short response to this consultation which we invited to sign here.
Christmas Cards: Aid to the Church in Need
Do consider buying your Christmas cards this year from Aid to the Church in Need. There range of cards in beautiful, and this is a good way of supporting a charity which provides invaluable support to our persecuted Christian brothers and sisters in the Middle East who are in extreme need. Click on the photo for their website.
Can you help?
We have been approached by an 18 year old Frenchman who has been attending one of the FSSP's schools in France. He has written "... I would like to improve my English. For this reason, do you think there is any opportunity to spend one month (August 2019) in your area? I am not looking for a paid job, but a way to use and perform the language. It is why I can live in a family, help anyone in your parish, work in a restaurant, a pub, a farm, a shop…" He can provide references among the FSSP priests who staff his school. Please contact Fr Goddard if you are interested in helping him.
