Fortifying Colorado's news ecosystem. Every day, CFOIC works with journalists at news organizations all over the state, helping them navigate Colorado's open-records and open-meetings laws and fight for greater access.
Holding government accountable. CFOIC's freedom-of-information hotline and resources are available to the general public free of charge. The open government laws are for everyone – more than 40 percent of the inquiries we get come from the public.
Broadening access. CFOIC works to improve Colorado's open government laws. We stand up to secrecy and efforts to weaken access.
Fighting misinformation. There has never been a higher premium on the public's right to obtain accurate, truthful and reliable information about government at all levels.
