Five Hungry Mice Wins Silver in the Preschool Books Category

The Moonbeam Awards honor independent authors and illustrators and consider works published around the globe, so long as they have a potential audience within the United States.

Five Hungry Mice is a retelling of a 19th-century poem by F.A.B. Dunning. Heather Lynn Harris also retold and illustrated Robert Louis Stevenson's The Swing. And she wrote and illustrated Clover and the Shooting Star.

The magic of children's book publishing

Seeing Double?

Because Heather was receiving her Moonbeam Award, she couldn't be present at the Expo like she originally planned. Her sister Heidi sat at her table to represent her, and Heather made a life-size cutout of herself to accompany Heidi and her pre-signed books!

Elizabeth Leader's Buffalo Snow found its way to Patrick Hammer, WGRZ Channel 2 meteorologist. And he loved it so much he read it aloud at the Book Expo in The Buffalo News Storytime Corner!
