NEW: Rest stop stretches to help you feel great while traveling

Traveling for the holidays? We love it, but it can be hard on the body. Find relief by stretching the muscles that tense up after hours in the car. In this story I wrote for Blue Cross NC, see some easy stretches you can do for your back, hips, legs, shoulders, and neck. You’ll feel soooo good!

The right exercise mat makes a HUGE difference!

You NEED the right exercise mat! It's amazing the difference that a good exercise mat can make. Standard, thin yoga mats are simply not good for most floor work. They provide little support and cushioning for your aching knees, hips or back -- putting pressure on those tender areas and making exercise uncomfortable. And when an exercise position causes discomfort, you're unlikely to do it.

That's why you need the right exercise mat. Switching from a yoga mat to a supportive cushioned mat has made a HUGE difference in my workouts. Finally, I could get on my hands and knees and not hurt. This affordable folding mat is one I recommend to my clients.

Need a guest speaker for your meeting?

Last week I had the pleasure of being the guest speaker at the TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) chapter meeting in Burlington!

I love giving talks. I really enjoy meeting people, offering encouragement, providing expert tips for success in fitness and a healthy lifestyle, and answering questions. Presentations are customized for the audience and topic.

If you would like a guest speaker for an upcoming meeting or lunch & learn, etc., please contact me.

You’re also away from your usual routine and familiar surroundings. Despite a busy schedule and long hours, it’s still possible to say fit and healthy on the road.

Try these tips if you're traveling for the holidays.
