New fonts: HWT Konop

HWT Konop is an original wood type design I created for the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum. The digital version was officially released recently at the 10th annual Hamilton Wayzgoose. Named after Don Konop, a retired Hamilton Manufacturing employee, the typeface is designed so all letters fit in square blocks that can be rotated and composed as a modular system.

Sneak peek: Etna Italics

In the previous issue of Font News I showed a sample of Etna, my modern interpretation of the classic “Aetna” wood type styles from the 1880s. The family is now being finished up with the addition of Italic styles. Keep an eye out for the official release soon.

Adobe’s previous Typekit font service has evolved into Adobe Fonts. The change expands the availability of my fonts there: anyone with a Creative Cloud subscription can now automatically access my fonts for desktop and web usage at no extra charge.
