The Paceline

I’ve been a Wheelmen member since 2003 and I’ve had a great experience with the club. It’s the reason for why I decided to become a board member in 2009. During my fifteen-year association with the club, our membership fees have not changed: $20 for single memberships and $25 for family memberships. The pricing for our current plans have been:

1 Year:   $20 for Single & $25 for Family
2 Years: $40 for Single & $50 for Family
3 Years: $60 for Single & $75 for Family

However, as you know, many things have changed in those fifteen years, including the costs associated with what the club provides. As a result, we will incorporate a $5 increase to all memberships. We also plan to change the name of the “Single” membership to “Individual” membership:

1 Year:   $25 for Individual & $30 for Family
2 Years: $45 for Individual & $55 for Family
3 Years: $65 for Individual & $75 for Family

In addition to the pricing changes, we plan to make the following changes:
  1. We will only offer online memberships via joinit.org, which provides a cloud-based membership management tool. This will reduce the complexity associated with what we’ve had in place for membership management for more than 15 years.
  2. Since we’re not using active.com or bikereg.com, we will no longer charge you for the processing fee associated with those online purchases. This means that the total cost for a membership paid via joinit.org and a membership paid via check will be the same.
Yes, if you so desire, you will still be able to pay for your membership via check.

With the new system, you will receive two renewal request e-mails before your membership expires. One will be sent 1 month before expiration and one will be sent 1 week before expiration.

If your membership is currently expired, you will receive a renewal request e-mail from the new system on Sunday, November 25th.

I welcome your feedback about these changes.

You should have received an e-mail request to submit a ballot for the CY19 board. If you haven't submitted your ballot, please locate the e-mail and follow the instructions. If you no longer have the e-mail and wish to vote, then please let me know.
