Help Grow Our Readership -
Asking EAA Chapters for Help in This Edition

The distribution list for the Louisiana Aviation News continues to grow very slowly.  We gain 1-3 or so subscribers a week which is disappointing. This email went out to 1,184 subscribers which is nice…..but with the size of the Louisiana aviation community it should be many times that.

Why am I even concerned about the size of the distribution list?  It’s true that LaAviator.com is not a business and I don’t charge for anything.  I won’t get any direct benefit from increasing the size of the list. The main reason is that doing all of this takes a lot of work…. and therefore, the more people that read it then the more people that will benefit from my work.

While the goal of LaAviator.com has always been to benefit the entire Louisiana Aviation Community, over the next few weeks I’m going to challenge various segments of readers to help increase the distribution.   I’m going to start today with asking for EAA Chapters for their help. I’ve been an EAA Member since 1975. I was the first State EAA Chapter President (EAA dropped the State Chapter Program many years ago). It is a great organization and is probably responsible for more aviation events around the state than any other.

Here are a few things I would like EAA Chapters to do to help increase the distribution:

  1. Forward this Louisiana Aviation News email to your EAA Chapter distribution lists so they can subscribe.
  2. Routinely put something in your monthly newsletters about how to subscribe to the Louisiana Aviation News.
  3. Print a poster and put it on your bulletin boards.  You can get the poster by clicking HERE

To Subscribe to the Louisiana Aviation News click HERE and follow the instructions.
Or you can also scan this with your cell phone…

Stay tuned as I pick another segment of the Louisiana aviation community in the next edition.  Thanks for your help.

Miscellaneous

Didja Kneaux???

Some miscellaneous tidbits of Louisiana aviation information that you might find interesting….

  • Do you remember when there was routine sailplane activity in St. Tammany Parish?  Yep, they started off at St. Tammany Regional (L31) in Abita Springs and then moved to Shaw Field (LA13) in Robert now owned and operated by Jim Shaw.  I can remember meeting and talking with Jack Frost who was one of founders but never took a sailplane flight. You can read all about it in a blog by Ron Barthet by clicking HERE

Poorboy.png
I'm sure all of you know about the proverbial $100 hamburger trip in the aviation world.   Since we are in Louisiana, I think it would be more appropriate to call it the $100 PoBoy.  To see a compilation of places around Louisiana to get that $100 PoBoy click....
