Having grown up in the suburbs Poetri Deal wanted to live in a tight-knit city neighborhood with abundant greenspace. Whether walking her Labradoodle, Ralph Angel, or running she says, “I’m just drawn to parks.” Poetri grew up in Prince George’s County, living with her mother in Bowie until she moved to Baltimore to attend Coppin State University. While living on campus, she spent time walking and biking in Druid Hill Park.

After Small Business Saturday and the Annual Treasure Hunt, we’ll continue the holiday festivities in Belair-Edison when we host our 3rd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting.

Open for Business: Spaces are popping up 


In October, friends and neighbors joined together to enjoy our Main Street Renaissance Project, which featured a retail pop-up shop walking tour. Local artist and designer Paige Orpin transformed 6 vacant commercial spaces along Belair Road. These spaces are now available and provide an affordable, turn-key solution to make your business or side hustle a reality.

Black Friday Hike and Beer Tasting Fundraiser

Join Friends of Herring Run Park for a fun afternoon spent hiking in the Lower Herring Run and hanging with friends and family at Oliver Brewing's tasting room. This event is family and dog-friendly! The guided hike is through parts of the park that are off the beaten path. Prepare to get your shoes muddy!
