Submissions for the 5th Transnational Access (TA) Call
close on 15 November!
Up until 15 November, researchers and industrial professionals are invited to apply for free-of-charge access to laboratories of ERIGrid partners. Costs of lab operation and support of the hosting staff are free of charge. Successful applicants' travel expenses, subsistence and accommodation costs will be reimbursed, subject to ERIGrid rules and regulations. Find out more here.
The next and the last call for applications for free access to ERIGrid laboratories will be opened from 15 February until 15 May 2019.
Join the ERIGrid Workshop “Advanced power system testing using Hardware in the Loop simulation”

In the framework of the ERIGrid project, ICCS-NTUA is hosting a one-day workshop under the title “Advanced power system testing using Hardware in the Loop simulation” on 23 November 2018 in Athens (GR). The workshop is targeting researchers and professionals in the fields of power systems and smart grids.

On 27 November 2018 OFFIS Cornelius Steinbrink of OFFIS will be giving a workshop on the capabilities of the open source co-simulation framework Mosaik, including a practical demonstration of potential applications, at FLEXCON 2018 in Brussels (BE). The goal of FLEXCON 2018 is to bring together all innovators who share the common goal to engage consumers in the flexible energy revolution. You can register for FLEXCON here.

The workshop is organised within the framework of ERIGrid, with DERlab's support.

On 16 October 2018 ERIGrid gathered stakeholders from the smart grids field at the project’s side event of IRED “Laboratory-Based Services for Smart Grids: Best Practices from the ERIGrid Project”. Workshop participants came from a wide range of relevant domains, including research, academia and industry. 
With the engagement of the ERIGrid consortium and Transnational Access users,  the workshop also attracted involvement from the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission and the Smart Grid International Research Facility Network (SIRFN).

At the joint booth together with the DERlab Association and the INTERPLAN project at the past European Utility Week 2018, members of the ERIGrid consortium presented the project’s activities, achievements and the Transnational Access programme to a broad spectrum of smart grid stakeholders, including researchers, industry representatives and academicians. Among the showcased accomplishments were ERIGrid’s holistic validation procedures and the co-simulation based assessment methods for cyber-physical energy systems. Furthermore, ICCS-NTUA, a member of the ERIGrid consortium and of the DERlab Association, provided a demonstration of a remote access to their virtual laboratory.
You can now keep track of the public ERIGrid outputs (including presentations, tutorials, developed softwares, webinar recordings, etc.) in the open research data repository Zenodo.
Research Infrastructure (RI) database schema - SchemaSpy description of the RI database defined in Deliverable D-NA5.2 Partner profiles. The file includes information on the table structure, data formats, primary keys etc. and can be used to view the details of the DB.
The WEST tool allows creation of an FMU server to deliver the FMU in all confidentiality and security. The adaptive interface provides the possibility to do simulation with FMU both in model exchange and co-simulation mode.

In their Real Time Digital Simulator Lab (RTDS), the researchers of Technical University of Delft carry out a series of RTDS exercises, structured into the following modules, all available for free download here:

  • Overview of RTDS hardware and RSCAD
  • Assembly of Power System Simulation Cases and scripting in RSCAD
  • Reading sending data and automatic simulations from-to Matlab and Python
  • CBUILDER-small time-step modelling theory-distribution system

The European Researchers’ Night (ERN) takes place every year simultaneously in several hundred cities all over Europe and beyond. The key objective of the event is to increase general public awareness of the diversity of scientific research and also to promote and facilitate greater public participation in the entire scientific process. On 28 September this year in Vienna (AT), ERIGrid organised a stand at the ERN with two live demos: co-simulation of a voltage control approach and virtual lab access to ICCS-NTUA.
