Also as many of you heard Sangharakshita, the founder of the western Buddhist order or Triratna passed away last week. He was the teacher of Padmadharini, Vimalasara, Ananta (all visiting teachers) Elaine and Moira. You can view his live funeral and memorial service at the link below. There are beautiful mantra chanting and ritual, Metta Bhavana , seven fold puja as requested by Bhante Sangharakshita https://youtu.be/Oc4jDaHrB1Q Here’s a link to a short presentation posted on Facebook about his life, if you are interested. https://www.facebook.com/clearvisiontrust/videos/285343118975737/
When someone benefits us even a little, we should repay them with all our hearts. Even if someone is angry with us, we should always treat them well.
~ Upasakasila Sutra
An American tradition and holiday, Thanksgiving, is often the cornerstone of being thankful for people and things in our lives (and ironically, followed by massively acquiring things the next day on “Black Friday”).
As a Buddhist, it may seem like this is yet another holiday that is something we cannot take part in. In-fact, it is perhaps one of the most important American holidays where Buddhist values shine.
When you eat at Bertucci's on Tuesday, November 13th,at either the Bensalem/Trevose location or the Langhorne location, at least 15% of your check will be donated back to Family Promise Lower Bucks. Our event will run from 11:00am to 9:00pm at both places.
Help the sangha with setup/cleanup
The Monday nights is done with the help of volunteers. We need you. Please volunteer (follow this easy guide if you need help with signing up )
* Note: You can lead service, but must be a member (Click to see info about being a member) Thank You!
We Need Donations Every Week
We collect and deliver donations to the Emergency Homeless Shelter. They are always in need of non perishable food items, paper products, and gift cards. However check out their Wish List if you want to give them what they really need.
We also collect for the local pet shelter. They need pet food and pet supplies (doesn't need to be new).
Please drop off your donation in a box in the lobby and consider signing up to deliver the donation to the shelter.
Send us your ideas for the next newsletter
If you have something to share with the rest of the sangha please email your news to Susan at bsbc19067@yahoo.com and we will be sure to include it
