Bienvenue & Bienvenido!

This weekend my aunt & uncle came for a visit and we had a freakin' blast. Since they left I've come down with a serious case of the Mondays, but nonetheless I'm thankful for family and fresh starts.

Bateaux Mouches
We finished off my stay-cation with a tour of the Seine at night (1000/10 recommend), but this picture was too cute not to include at the very beginning of our email. Hit me up if you want a copy for your Christmas card!

Ô Chateau

Aside from getting to spend time with my aunt & uncle (they're the coolest) my favorite part of their visit was this super chill jazz concert in a wine bar. We entered on the ground level and ordered drinks, then went downstairs to the wine cellar where a tiny studio was set up. The two artists were absolutely mesmerizing and the two hour performance was cozy and personal and oh-so-Parisian.

Tour Eiffel

For the past two years my aunt & uncle have driven me home from Ithaca for Thanksgiving break. We always make a little trip out of their journey, and each year I am more appreciative of the early start to family time. Since this year things are a bit different, we decided this here was my Thanksgiving dinner -- a makeshift picnic in the rain in front of the Eiffel Tower. We were cold and wet but much too happy to care.

Montmartre

We had such a good time together this weekend it was difficult to narrow down images and moments to include in this week's update. I decided to go with this one -- a street I'd never been on in an area I know fairly well -- because for me, it encapsulates their visit. My aunt & uncle explored new places with me, but also gave me fresh eyes and a new perspective on places I pass every day. As I near the end of my time in this beautiful place, I am constantly reminded that everything is temporary, but that's why it matters.

As always, let me know your thoughts! Lots of love,

Abby
