What a week...again. The midterm election results, mass shootings and raging fires in California, the anniversary of Kristallnacht, honoring our veterans, the Jewish superhero creator Stan Lee died. I know there's more.

Amidst the emotional whiplash, my bright spots:

🐶 all of the puppies and babies that people brought with them to vote (I volunteered as a poll worker on election day)
👧 the spiritual/smart/self-aware/super cool teen who joined our virtual community gathering last week
🖥 this week's kick-off meeting for Arq's new volunteers (join them!)
🏡 the friends who welcomed my husband and me into our new home with flowers, folding tables, and smudging ceremonies
🍞 the perfection with which our new toaster oven reheats our stash of frozen NYC bagels (still searching for a worthy LA spot...)
