November 2018 Newsletter

I've had a busy couple months since the last newsletter, so I have quite a few updates to share with you.  I've begun some new projects, and I've created a LOT of new work, but most importantly for me is that I was able to create a voice-guided educational video to go along with the free ICM pdf tutorial I offer.

I said in the last newsletter that my goal is not just to create art through imagery, and that always holds true.  My desire is to connect with you in more meaningful ways, and part of that is to encourage and inspire you to tap into your own creativity.  If I'm able to do that through the sharing of information on my website, on any of my social media sites, or in my YouTube videos, then I feel I have achieved something meaningful and purposeful.

I'm always happy to answer any questions or to connect in a more personal way, so please don't ever hesitate to reach out to me to provide feedback and thoughts, or to ask questions, anytime.  My contact information can be found at the bottom of this newsletter.

Press Coffee Presents
Stephanie Johnson Photography

For the month of November, 35 of my images are on display at Press Coffee, in Coralville, Iowa.  The prints have been prepared as framed/matted, metal/aluminum, and matted only.

Press Coffee Company hosted an Opening Reception on Thursday, 8 November, and the event was well attended and received.  I had the pleasure of meeting some really lovely people and having some great conversations about my work and photography in general.

All images on display are for sale, and I've set up a website gallery for them.  If you aren't able to visit Press Coffee in person to view the display, you can visit this link to see the works I chose to showcase for the exhibition - Press Coffee Exhibit

2019 Calendars

Two different calendars are available for purchase.  A sample of low resolution images for each calendar can be seen by clicking each of the links below.

These beautiful calendars are printed on thick 130# pearl paper, which offers a subtle shimmer from natural minerals and organic pigments used to give the paper a spectacular pearl-like sheen.  The calendars are center fold, and the full open size measures 11" x 17".

Additionally, as a token of my appreciation, every calendar purchase will include a free 6x9 print of one of my favorite images from the past year, as well as a free postcard-sized calendar magnet, which can be seen on the individual calendar pages.

New Portfolio Images

I've been primarily focused on abstract ICMs for a while now.  I really love doing this kind of in-camera creative work, and it has essentially become my signature style.  I hope you enjoy the images as much as I enjoy creating them.

To view the newest additions, please visit the following links.  All images are available for purchase as prints.  Please contact me for details on pricing and printing options.

New IrishLight Collection Book

In October, two of my images (above) from Ireland were published in a new IrishLight Collection book and exhibition, as part of my involvement with the 2017 IrishLight Project, created and curated by the amazing Irish Landscape Photographer, Peter Gordon.

Islands were the theme for the 2017 Collection, where 36 photographers, under the mentorship of 7 of Ireland's premier landscape photographers, created an amazing body of work across 7 various planned island locations, to capture a unique timeline of the Irish landscape over the course of one weekend.

TRANSFORMATIONS Digital Exhibit

The two images above - Spirits of Trees and Evening Shade - were selected by a juried panel for display, during the month of November, for the Pennsylvania Center for Photography TRANSFORMATIONS Digital Exhibition in Philadelphia.

I'm very happy and pleased to announce that Spirits of Trees won first place overall for the Digital Exhibition.

Landscapes Reimagined ICM Video Tutorial

In early October, I added voice to the abstract ICM tutorial I offer as a free download on my website, and I turned it into an educational video.

I wanted to share the tutorial on my YouTube channel so it would be available to a wider audience than just those who've been able to attend one of my presentations in person. My hope is that the tutorial will be helpful to anyone interested in learning ICM photography, or perhaps for those who have already done some ICM work but would like more information and insights about the technique.

If you haven't already done so, I would really appreciate you visiting and subscribing to my channel.
