CHRISTMAS CONCERT
Please join us as we mark the 200th anniversary of the Christmas hymn “Silent Night” with our annual Shoreland Christmas Concert on Friday, December 14, at 7:00 p.m. in the gym. The choirs, band, strings, hand bells and instrumentalists will get our hearts ready for the celebration of Jesus’ birth. The music takes us back to the silent night that inspired Pastor Joseph Mohr to write the song, and the noisy night in the hills outside of Bethlehem, when the mighty angel’s voice filled the sky with the glorious news: Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you!

LET HIS LIGHT SHINE! CHRISTMAS LUMINARIES
“Let His Light Shine” by making a $10 donation in memory or in honor of a loved one this Christmas. The luminaries with names help decorate our Christmas concert on December 14. Please provide information and payment by Friday, December 7 (one name per luminary). Click
here to download/print a form.

VAPING
Recently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration declared teen vaping an “epidemic” in America. Vaping is the act of inhaling aerosol and vapor from a liquid that contain drugs like nicotine and THC through an e-cigarette. Through the use of flavors, e-cigarette use is made more appealing to young people. The Gateway Foundation has created resources for parents to learn more about vaping. Please click
here to read the PDF and view the video. The PDF and video are mobile device friendly and provide additional links to more in-depth information such as how to talk to adolescents about substance use.

As always, parents should use their own judgment in determining if the weather or traveling conditions are too risky to allow their child(ren) to make the trip to school. Students should be reminded that entrance/exit ramps on the interstate, as well as country roads, become ice-covered and slippery. Slower speeds should be encouraged for their safety.
