An Evangelism Thought...
“For by a single offering He has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.” Hebrews 10:14
The sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross is the full and complete payment for our sins. Nothing we could ever do could add to what He has already done.

PRAYER TEAMS
FGS is being called to specific prayer. If you are able to do so please join a prayer group that is meeting after each service at the back of the church. See Lois Peters (Saturday), David Clark/Verla Niebuhr/Sean Cunningham (Sunday).
If you are not able to join a Saturday/Sunday group, know that you are still being called to prayer and please add to your daily prayers the specific prayer requested by Pastor B, that "the hearts and minds of the members of FGS would be seeking God's guidance and wisdom during this period of transition."
Click Here for a list of members, friends and family that we've prayed for over the past few months.

Members and guests are requested to complete a Connecting Card.  They're placed in the hymnal racks.  If you have a prayer request, there are cards for that too.  Signing in helps Pastor B. know everyone who is in attendance, members and guests alike!  Prayer cards let us know how we can bring our concerns to God as a community.
God's blessings,
    Pastor B

Pastors are like firefighters, rushing from one crisis to another to offer care—they appreciate having a team of Stephen Ministers to provide the regular, ongoing care people need after the fire is out.
Stephen Ministers: The After People.
A Stephen Minister comes alongside a hurting person after the loss of a loved one, after a divorce, after a cancer diagnosis, or after any number of other life difficulties—and provides one-to-one, Christ-centered care for as long after as needed.
Comfort Dog Ministry
Lois and her Comfort Dog friends were in Thousand Oaks, CA to bring comfort to the community.  Click on the pictures below for larger images.  Pictures are also available on Lois' Facebook page.

Lois is a trained Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dog at First Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and School.  She interacts with people at churches, schools, nursing homes, hospitals, events and in disaster response situations.  Lois is a friend who brings a calming influence and allows people to open up their hearts and receive help for what is affecting them.  This in turn enables Lois' handler or others to share Jesus and what He can do for all life's struggles.

Contact the church office if you wish to schedule a visit.
