Last Weekend and This Weekend at GHC
So, last Saturday saw the end of our L1s winning streak and despite our Ladies scoring 3 times, rivals Marlow go ahead in the table - alas we still have a game in hand though! Go GHC!
The M1s maintain their unbeaten league season with a draw in Eastbourne.
Both 1st XI teams are at home tomorrow, Saturday 17 November at 12:30 for the Ladies and 14:30 for the Men. Come and support!
Last Sunday was a full line up for the Juniors with many playing before or after Remembrance Sunday services. Our teams importantly also paid their respect and honoured the contribution of servicemen and women
This weekend we have plenty of Junior teams out playing including many continuing their quest for national glory in various England Hockey Cup competitions. Best of luck to all!

New Junior Camp Dates including Indoor! Booking Now
There is plenty more hockey to come this season and don't forget to book your places in our upcoming camps for even more learning and fun:
Saturday 22 December - two hour intensive indoor sessions - 10-12 for U9-12, 1230-1430 for U13s and up
Wednesday 2 & Thursday 3 January - outdoor camps 10am-3pm
Monday 18-Wednesday 20 February - outdoor camps 10am-3pm

Please Support Children in Need This Evening at U14/16 Training
Dear parents,
Friday 16th November is the annual Children in Need drive... down by the astros at Charterhouse from 6.30pm onwards this evening.. we'll be selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts and sweetie bags, for £1 each.

Hawkinsport Kit Sale Friday 30 November at GHC
They will have a full range of GHC kit (tracksuit bottoms, sweatshirts, hats, tops, skorts, shorts, socks etc)
as well as a range of sticks, stick bags, and other hockey accessories.
They have the ability to print player numbers onto shirts on site.
Christmas is coming - if you have all the essentials already, you might think about a new left hand glove (highly recommended that all wear) and if your players is a defender, how about their own face mask.

FIH Pro League Tickets on Sale!
The FIH Pro League is a new global hockey competition beginning in January 2019.
A Men's League and a Women's League each comprising nine of the top hockey nations will play 144 matches around the world, culminating in a Grand Final in June in the Netherlands.
Great Britain Women and Men will both be competing - home matches begin on Saturday 27 April and run through Sunday 20 June 2019.

England Hockey Announce Men's Squad for World Cup 2018 in India
England Head Coach Danny Kerry has selected a squad of 18 with 2 reserves for the Men's World Cup to be held in India in two weeks' time.
The squad is a mixture of youth and experience with players who have competed in multiple World Cups alongside 13 players for whom this will be their first experience.

And get ready to watch the World Cup action from Bhubaneswar, India from the end of this month on BT Sport.

Super Evening of Comedy at Harbour House Hotel
After our super end of season event at Harbour House Hotel in May, GHC were back at the venue for a fun-filled curry and comedy event on Saturday night.
A sell out crowd of GHC members and friends were entertained by a line up of comedicans organised by Gag House Comedy. First up was Tom Toal, followed by musical comedian Jon Long, then Mark Bourke and then finishing was Garrett Millerick.
Many thanks to all who came out on this dark, rainy evening to support the event and laugh along. Also huge thanks to James Relph for organising the event!!

First Aid Courses - New Dates - Book Now
Please email Michelle to let her know if you are interested in becoming a First Aider – courses run in the evenings at the Club.
Once completetd, the course can be used as CPD in the work place. We ask for £35 towards the course while the Club pays two thirds of the fees. If money is going to stop you doing the course then please speak to Michelle.
The dates for the next 'Emergency First Aid at Work' course are:
- Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 November 6pm-9:30pm
- Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 January 6pm-9:30pm
You will need to be able to attend both evenings on either course 1 or 2 to complete the course and get the certificate.
The Courses will be taught by AJM First Aid Training
