Living the Vision

God has given our church an amazing vision, to be a reconciling community for God's glory and neighbor's good. It's a vision we'll never attain fully in this life, but one that calls us together toward Christ, the one who holds all things together.

To help each of us practically live into this vision we've identified three ways for us to participate together. We pursue community by participating in a weekly community group or the Thursday evening Bible Study. We serve in ministry by joining a Ministry Team. And we engage with our neighbors in outreach through the direction of New Community Outreach, our nonprofit organization. Those of us who call New Community our church home will seek to find ways to faithfully pursue community, serve in ministry, and engage in outreach. As we do, we are living out our vision of being a reconciling community.

If you're new to the church, here's how you can begin participating in this vision:
  1. Community: Email the church about visiting one (or more) of our four community groups or simply stop by the Ministry Center on any Thursday evening at 7:00PM (except the 1st Thursday of each month) for our Bible Study.
  2. Ministry: We are currently recruiting new team members for the Set-up Team and the Kid City Team. Email the church for more information.
  3. Outreach: Throughout the year you'll hear about ways to serve alongside our neighbors through New Community Outreach. This Sunday we'll hear an update from our executive director, Markeyta Boone.
It's one thing to have an exciting vision. It's something else entirely better to participate in that vision together. Thank you for your part in living as a reconciled community!

- Pastor David

PS The Sunday after Thanksgiving will be a testimony service. We'd love to hear from you about what God has been doing in your life!

Community Prayer Requests

1) Elected Officials: Pray that the public officials elected in our city and across the country will serve with integrity and courage and will stand up for the vulnerable. Pray also that our hope (at New Com and the wider Church) will be firmly placed in our Lord Jesus and that we will remain committed to representing his kingdom of justice and righteousness.

2) 2019 Strategic Plan and Budget: Pray for our members and Leadership Team as we discern the final draft of next year's plan and budget. Pray as well for financial generosity as we approach the end of our fiscal year, that we may move forward with momentum in 2019.

3) New Community Outreach: There are some organizations that are considering year-end gifts to NCO. Please pray that they would be generous to support our mission of reducing trauma among youth in our community.
Your generosity helps our ministry flourish. Please see this fact sheet to learn more about how to give or visit our website to give online. Thank you!
