Great American Teach-In
Our 7th graders had the opportunity to hear from Heart Gallery of Tampa this week and after the presentation the class was asked to write about their reaction to the visit.  Please see the following two examples of our student's work.  This is what the Great American Teach-In is all about.  Spreading knowledge to our younger generations.

This Wednesday, Amanda Page from the Heart Gallery came to speak about her job to the 7th grade class. The presentation was incredibly moving. Her job involves helping finding loving homes for Foster children. All children deserve to have joy in their lives and she is trying to help them find it. Mrs. Page does these things by taking a picture of the child and posting them all over Tampa, in hopes that they will be seen by someone willing to love and adopted them. It is even more difficult for children our age to be adopted because many people want to adopted younger children. I encourage you to visit their website for ways to help or donate. ~ Tyler T.

When the Heart Gallery visited for Great American Teach In, I was brought to tears. Amanda taught me many facts about Fostering. For example, there are over 4,000 foster children in Hillsborough County.   She also said the older children are the harder it becomes for them to be adopted. Can you imagine not having anyone who loves you? Heart Gallery has pop up galleries all around Tampa to help support adoptions. I encourage you to get online and see what the Heart Gallery is all about this Holiday season.~ Remley V.

Box Top Campaign
Our Annual Box Tops drive is off to a FABULOUS START with October's collection of FREE MONEY being issued back to our school of $842.20!

Please continue clipping and collecting Box Tops.  This year each classroom has a collection goal of 300 each month and 1800 by the end of the year!  Classroom collections will be tallied monthly and for the classes that

We would love for families to get creative with the way they collect Box Tops!  Contact family members, neighbors, church kitchens, after school activities, sports teams, parent's coworkers etc. to see if they will donate their box tops to our school.

Please follow these simple steps to help make our collection drive run smoothly:
  1. Neatly cut and sort your Box Tops and place into baggies or print a fun collection sheet from HERE and adhere the Box Tops.
  2. Place your child's name and homeroom teacher's name on the baggie or collection sheet so that he/she receives credit.
  3. Baggies can be dropped off in the collection mailbox in the front lobby or with your homeroom teacher.
***Don’t forget to download the Bonus Box Tops app to earn even more Box Tops digitally!***
Box Tops for Education has rolled out a new app for your Smartphone or Apple device. It allows our school to earn BONUS Box Tops for items you already buy with the on-package Box Tops.  Check the app often as the offers change weekly!

It only takes a few minutes to download the app and create an account which allows you to automatically add bonus Box Tops to our school with just a picture of your receipt.  Screen shot or forward the email you receive from the Box Tops Bonus App showing the Receipt ID and the amounts earned and then email to LutzPrepBoxTops@aol.com along with your child’s homeroom teachers name so that they can receive Box Tops credit for their class!

Example: when you purchase Lucky Charms or any Toast Crunch cereals you’ll receive 1 Box Top (10 cents) from the package and if you scan the receipt into the app you will earn an additional 2, so that’s a total of 3 (30 cents) Box Tops for a single purchase!  Also, if you purchase from BOXED, they are currently running a 30 Box Tops bonus for 3 eligible purchases (totaling 33 Box Tops - $3.30 of free money!)  To access the BOXED bonus use the BOXED app, go to account, account settings, Box Tops for Education, link your BOXED account to your Box Tops account, Earn More Box Tops Here tab.
