PROJECT UPDATE
Colony Park Master Developer

On October 18, 2018, Austin City Council authorized city staff to enter into exclusive negotiations with Catellus Development Corporation for development of the 208–acre, city-owned, Colony Park Sustainable Community site. Catellus is currently the City's master development partner for the Mueller public-private partnership, the redevelopment of a mixed-income, mixed-use community located on the former site of Austin's municipal airport. The City anticipates a six month process for completion of the Exclusive Negotiating Agreement (ENA), a document which helps set the terms for site development and one which is required to formally close the solicitation process. Execution of the ENA will be followed by up to 24 months to negotiate the terms of a Master Development Agreement. Negotiations will include terms for financing, project phasing, women and minority-owned business participation, mixed-income and workforce housing strategies, and ongoing citizen participation, among other terms. This Master Development Agreement must be approved by Austin City Council. The City and Catellus are working together to ensure community engagement and public involvement remains a top priority throughout the negotiation process and future implementation efforts.

PROJECT UPDATE
Colony Park District Park

In November, voters passed Proposition C of the 2018 Bond ($149 million) which will fund improvements, renovations, and upgrades to Parks and Recreation assets.

We're excited to share that Proposition C also dedicates funds for a new Colony Park Pool. This has been a long awaited community amenity and we're excited to be one-step closing to making this happen.

Construction is also underway for Colony Park District Park

Through the support of the Austin Parks Foundation, St. David's Foundation, Dell Technologies Match Play, and PARD we have been breaking ground behind the Turner-Roberts Recreation Center to feature a new playscape, pavilion and multipurpose fields in 2019.
